‘They achieve nothing for people’: tenants challenge condo developments
By: Tyreike Reid
Over the past few months I had the opportunity to connect with individuals and families who are facing demovictions across Toronto. For this project, I wanted to explore the root causes that are leading to this. I found that Condos have become an integral part of Toronto's identity, shaping both the cultural and physical characteristics of the city. The developments have also lead to an increase in profit from developers and the municipality. With this project, I explored all the ways Condos are taking up space, and removing communities and opportunities to build affordable housing.
